Thank you, Amy! I think I’ve narrowed it down to four different options. I usually just pick one and call it a day, but this room is big I think I should be responsible and buy some sample tins of paint.
Dooooo it! Pink brightness & a creamsicle muted orange are so sweet together. If you keep your fireplace the way it is the zesty flavor of bringing citrus in 🍊will really make the pink fire the perfect dance duo 🧡🩷! You will be living in a constant state of summertime dreaming.
Yess! Okay, Su, I love the way you described that. I think the pink and citrus is going to bring me the burst of energy I've been craving in this room.
Dooo it! I immediately thought of summer and ice cream/sorbet as well when I saw your fireplace. I once painted my kitchen bright orange and loved it so much when the morning sun made it glow even more :)
Do it!! I have been in love with orange for years. One of the very first things I did in our first house was paint the bedroom a color called ice cream social, which the apricot cream reminds me of! Our current living room is a color called Earthen Jug, which is maybe an auntie of apricot cream :), Darker and more of a true terra cotta.
Do you have any advice for painting a small, but very open plan house? I’m wanting to lighten up the living room color, but it has open lines of sight to the dining room, kitchen and hallway, the spaces are not super defined by doorways or other obvious structural markings. I’ve really struggled with knowing how far a paint color should extend. It feels like it has to go everywhere or nowhere- and with orange, everywhere is a lot!
From one color human to another, DO IT! My living room is painted a bright orange, and it brings me so much joy. The peachy tone you're looking at will be just the right amount of warmth it sounds like you're looking for
Orange would be lovely! I can see the vision.

we had this color in our bedroom for years and the room glowed even on overcast days ☀️
different house,
light blue and in need of warming up, too! 😂
I always like a light blue in other people’s homes. But I think you’re so right—orange is that instant glow!
No way! Ok, I love hearing this and appreciate this feedback. What colour is your bedroom these days?
Yesssss
This is the kind of encouragement I need!
