Welcome to Lisa in Colour
The other apps haven't been doing it for me, and I think my people might be here on Substack.
I’m quite nostalgic. It’s the first thing you should know about me. It’s also the reason that I can’t bare to delete this generic ‘Coming soon’ post that Substack creates when you first open an account. Anyhow, I’m excited to connect with those of you who also appreciate colour and style, and how those things pertain to the homes that we spend so much time in.
What is Lisa in Colour?
Lisa in Colour about making a home that feels like an extension of yourself—whether that means painting your fireplace, tiling your own backsplash, or hunting down vintage treasures.
From my about page:
I’m a lifelong design enthusiast and maximalist at heart. I’ve been documenting the DIY renovation of my century-old home on Instagram, where I share my latest projects—like my pink painted fireplace and grid-tiled kitchen backsplash I did myself. I buy and sell vintage housewares for fun and during the strange pandemic years, I even ran a small brick-and-mortar vintage shop.
My love for interiors started early—at 11, my parents let me tear up the carpet in my brother and I’s bedrooms and paint the wooden subfloor black with silver and teal spray accents (I have the photos to prove it somewhere). As a teenager, while my friends were going to movies, I was begging my parents to take me to Ikea to wander the displays. On my 16th birthday, I got a papasan chair and remember thinking it was the best day of my life.
